CBN: Iran Authorites Set Pastor's Execution for Apostasy

A Christian pastor in Iran is scheduled to be put to death this weekend.

Pastor Yousef Nadarkhani was convicted of apostasy, which carries the death sentence in Iran. Authorities said he will be executed Sunday, Oct. 24. His wife was sentence to life in prison.
Youcef leads one of the largest Protestant communities in Iran and has been targeted for converting Muslims to Christ.

He was arrested last October after protesting against the decision of local authorities to enforce the reading of the Koran to Christian children.

Christians and human rights activists are still petitioning for the release of Nadarkhani and his wife.
